Dr. Joel Henry went to Montana State for two Computer Science degrees, Virginia Tech for a PhD in Computer Science, and finally the University of Montana for a JD. Joel integrates corporate and transaction work, with private equity securities offerings, intellectual property law, and all things technical to offer his clients unique solutions. His technical background makes his work in data privacy and security especially effective, helping clients meet GDPR, California’s CCPA, and Colorado’s CPA, among other requirements (PCI Compliance for example). Joel can work with clients from the creation of their business, through capital financing, IP protection, employment matters, contracting, and liquidation events. Joel may be the foremost expert in Montana on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology law. He also serves as an expert witness on litigation matters involving technology challenges, electronic discovery, and digital forensics. A significant area of his practice also includes complex, cutting edge legal matters around new technologies including artificial intelligence, automated hardware, data mining, IT security, and data breaches. Joel enjoys the complexity at the intersection of law, business, and technology when he isn’t brewing beer, casting flies, tracking elk, or spending time with his family.
